Danielle Thomas, Teach for America-Baltimore’s Director of Learning Communities, invited S.A.G.E. Wellness to lead a professional development on well-being and teacher self-care. How can we be present for others, when we are empty and burned out? While classroom management and curriculum development is key for new teachers, finding balance and well-being in the classroom is essential for building long-term investment and success for a career in education. This workshop focused on how to bring wellness practices, such as diaphragmatic breathing and mindfulness, into teachers’ daily lives.
